How to set up an e-mail account in Outlook Express

  1. Open Outlook Express. Select Tools > Accounts. In the "Internet Accounts" dialogue box click on "Add" and select mail from the drop down list.

  2. Enter your e-mail address.

  3. Enter your account name and password.

  4. Enter the names of your incoming and outgoing mail servers.

  5. Click on finish, although this isn't the end!

  6. Click on the "Mail" tab in the Internet Accounts dialogue box and click on "Properties"

  7. Select the "Servers" tab. Under "Outgoing Mail Server" ensure that the "My server requires authentication" box is checked and then click on the "Settings" button.

  8. Ensure that "Use same settings as my incoming mail server" is selected. Click on "OK", "OK" again and then "Close" and you're done!
